Tree removal
When a tree has to go, I'll take it down safely and carefully, and clear away all the wood so you're left with a tidy section.
What's included
- Taking the tree down safely in manageable sections
- Cutting up the branches and trunk
- Clearing away all the wood and green waste
- Leaving the area raked and tidy
Common reasons to remove a tree
- The tree is dead, dying or unsafe
- It has outgrown the space or is too close to the house
- Roots or branches are damaging fences, paths or drains
- It's blocking light or views
- You're making room for new landscaping
Worth checking first
No type of tree is automatically protected in Auckland, but some individual trees are, such as listed notable trees or trees covered by a covenant on the property title. If you have a large or significant tree, check with Auckland Council before it's removed.
In Auckland, Vector asks that only approved utility arborists trim trees within four metres of a power line. Let me know if your tree is near a line.
Stumps and bigger trees
If you'd like the stump dealt with, mention it when you ask for a quote. For very large trees close to buildings, I'll always be upfront about what I can do safely. I'll visit to look at the tree before giving you an accurate quote.

Common questions
How much does tree removal cost?
It depends on the size of the tree, where it is and how easy it is to get to, so I'll come and have a look and give you a free quote.
Do I need council permission to remove a tree?
Usually not. No type of tree is automatically protected in Auckland, but some individual trees are, such as notable trees or trees covered by a covenant on the title. If you're not sure, check with Auckland Council first.
Do you take all the wood away?
Yes. All the branches, wood and green waste are cleared away as part of the job.
